  2. Whew! Re-watching this after the farce of Rise of Skywalker shows how bad it could go. Rey becomes the best pilot/fighter of the Resistance, can heal people of fatal wounds, beats Kylo yet again, beats Palpatine, then takes the Skywalker name at the end. She was a one-woman wrecking ball of the original series - outdoing Han on the Falcon, beating Luke, beating Kylo a student of Luke and the son of Han and Leia, fake killing Chewie with her awesome lightning power while beating Kylo yet again, and killing the source of all evil from the originals who was also her grandpappy while impressing everyone she meets (something Luke had to earn). This is exactly what a Mary Sue is and does - gets implanted in a story with established characters and either impresses or bests them at everything. In this case she supplants them all and steals even their namesake. FFS!
