They exiled Jews from Jerusalem which they leveled but there were still Jews in the region. Of those some converted to Christianity and some of their descendants converted to Islam centuries later.

  9. Palestinians as they are called today have deeper roots than even Ancient Hebrews. Genetics show ties going back to the Natufian Culture of 10,000. Abraham came from Ur into the region then his grandson Jacob ended his days in Egypt where his descendants supposedly spent 4 centuries there. The united Monarchy of Israel is hard to find in the archeological record unlike their Canaanite counterparts.
