  1. All a conspiracy is is a group of people secretly planning something usually to give advantage to themselves while disadvantaging others. It can be just two people plotting to eat someone else's lunch. But thanks to insane often rightwing conspiracy theories of pizzagate and interdimensional reptiles, all conspiracy theories get lumped in as looney. This situation seems rather easy - some individuals may have wanted to send a message: DON'T go against the cops and the system.

  5. What he could have done is tell her how her father could go thru the procedures to become a citizen rather than just saying callously "the law is the law." As for the crowd that's the Tea Party showing that tact and empathy they are famous for.
