  1. conservatives don't care because in their minds they are in a knock-down-drag-out ideological war with liberals so facts be damned in the face of the enemy. While liberals often throw their own under the bus for real offenses or for cowardly appeasement for the sake of neutrality, conservatives will back ideas contradictory to their professed beliefs and support people who are against their best interests and are often appalling hypocrites.
