  1. I've run with the bulls a total of 7 times at two San Fermines. If it was just that the festival would be alright but the bulls are killed that afternoon in the bullring. I've mixed feelings about it as the Spaniards say - better the bull ring than the slaughterhouse. I saw a few fights up close in Seville and found it a bit disturbing especially when one began to bellow in pain. Can't say I feel too much sympathy for the matadors.  From what I understand the country is rather divided over the issue as many northern spaniards feel it is a southern spain tradition and not part of theirs.
