"I'm going to call you out for cherry picking by cherry picking my own examples!" I hate these kind of "arguments" that ultimately have little point. As to his example of the NRA saying if the black man who was shot in the apartment had a gun, he'd be alive that's just ridiculous on the NRA's part regardless of race and I think they are just throwing a bone to try and seem that they care. Being surprised (ambushed) by someone with a gun close at hand doesn't give that person much options unless they sit around their own home armed all the time and draw their gun every time someone knocks on the door. While I think the NRA is just offering a limp-wristed defense for the sake of appearances, there are gun nuts who think you can magically take down an armed assailant with your ninja-like moves because they did it in a video game. Plus, say he shot and killed her, now he's killed a cop and a female one at that in his home and he's black on top of that. Do you think the judicial system is going to let him off?
