They idolize the ones who act tough but never did anything like John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Bush Jr, Trump, and any rightwing actor they saw on a movie screen shooting big guns. They don't comprehend that these kinds will always be missing when things get real and the civil war they keep hoping for won't have any of them charging from the front.

  3. It's Abused Spouse Syndrome. The Rightwing have so gaslighted and browbeat the media and much the Left as well into thinking any hint of radical talk from the Left is a grave threat to the country (hence all the fear-mongering of Antifa and BLM) but threats of violence from the Right is perfectly normal. This allows them to get away with things more and more until they feel bold enough to plunge the country into a fascistic authoritarian dictatorship with heavy emphasis on religion and white supremacy.
