  1. Trump feels like a litmus test to see how far certain segments of the population will go to follow a crazy authoritarian who speaks to their irrational fears. The fact that 74 million people still voted for this joker after 4 years of his buffoonery and unprofessionalism shows not only how divided the country is but how principle means very little to these tribal-minded voters. A more suave Trump-like figure would have these people doing what they are aching to do already - rounding up fellow citizens (un-Americans as they call them), beating and killing liberal protestors, shooting people at the border, arresting and executing liberal politicians, and supporting the military industrial complex in bombing the hell out of other countries they are afraid of. They are Brown Shirts waiting a Hitler. Trump was just a test.
