they're willingly brainwashed - these aren't happy go-lucky people who were twisted by diabolical brainwashing of some cartoonish fiend. They have been fed what they want to hear. LBJ said it best to describe this personality - "If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket." They want to hear that minorities are criminals, that liberals are evil, that communism is bad, etc... and they will give all their money to grifters like Trump, Alex Jones, Ben Shapiro, Fox, OAN, etc... to keep being fed with this.
