  1. We are in such a weird state of affairs. On one side we have a buffoonish brash president with perhaps the most dubious of backgrounds some of which flies in the face of the principles of his "family values" followers. He is supported by very angry and very ignorant people brainwashed by 30+ years of rabid gaslighting rightwing rhetoric. On the other side many people sheepishly shrug their shoulders and try to treat the president and his rabid fans as slightly normal. People in the future (if we have one) will look back in puzzlement thinking "how in the world did people back then let this happen as that President and his supporters were obviously insane and the President was clearly suffering from dementia!"
