  1. when republicans spend it's often for the benefit of corporations whether thru subsidies, deregulation, or lucrative contracts for wars. when democrats spend it's often for social programs that help the poor and minorities and often detrimental to corporate profits due to regulation and tax policies. This is what brings out the double conservative whammy on democrat spending - on one side the greedy corporates and on the other the racists who don't want minorities getting any help
