@radicallymoderateryan9362 what seems to you is your distorted perception of reality. The Democrats didn't bend over backwards swearing they would never like the GOP did in 2016. Now they are eating their own words.

Trumpism is modern American conservatism in overdrive which didn't start with Trump. Trump played Pied Piper to people who were already in a certain mindset created by years and years of rabid rightwing rhetoric coupled with post-911 paranoia and 8 years of indignation of Obama's presidency.
