Must be nice to have an extra $20,000.00 in your emergency fund. I also have excellent health care; the difference is, in my case, living in Canada, as a Canadian, I do exactly the same thing you just described, minus being out of pocket $20,000.00. That's how I handled my heart attack July 1st 2016. One week stay at Vancouver General Hospital, heart stent installed one liver stone smashed and released with no bill to worry about.
