@keithpriv "I think it's a generational thing, as that's standard practice for boomers." Not for this boomer, though I've heard from other boomers over the years that their parents threatened them in a similar fashion when they were kids in the 1970's.

@jandrews6254 "I’d have thought boomers would have been immunised against smallpox, polio, whooping cough..." Speaking as a 66 year old Canadian boomer, I definitely remember getting vaccinated in primary school around 1961(?). Polio was the scary one back then.

Speaking as a more progressive thinking and open minded Canadian Boomer, I'm not suggesting some of my fellow Boomers are blame free, but please cut some of us some slack.
