Duda is speaking strategically and in long term geopolitical terms with such things as investment in north/south gas pipelines. There is a geopolitical concept in Poland known as the Intermarium, which means, between the seas, referring to the land mass of central Europe, between the Baltic and Black Seas. This concept guides US and Polish long term strategic planning.

  21. Joanna: What I do know is how fast these nations got rid of their former Soviet sponsored governments, and rewrote their constitutions, with safeguards for their liberty. I'm old enough to remember this stuff.

The people of these now independent nations hold these events very close to their hearts.
