@theFORZA66 All the cities would need a major remodeling, which would take more money and time than it is worth. Not to mention, like SOREN said, it also requires a high amount of trust that other people in there won't mess you up. I don't know about you, but the high crime rates of the cities leaves me preferring my car over a train.

@gus2603 Yeah, and look at the communities that were destroyed because of it. The towns along Route 66 are dying because they got bypassed, and businesses closer to home near I-69 had to shut down because they got bypassed. We're not talking corporate ones, we are talking mom and pop shops that will never recover. "You say that like it hasn't been done before." On the contrary, it is precisely because it happened before that I am speaking out about this. "all the problems you mention can be overcome even the money." For who? The people that were already forced out of their homes by such construction?

@patriot9487 And, how many of that 80% would be out of work until the whole city is remodeled? We're already seeing near-forever construction from roads that suck taxes dry, and you expect more of that from building trains everywhere? It's not just a new railroad. You'd have to practically level blocks upon blocks worth of buildings, destroying not only workplaces but also entire neighborhoods. No, thank you.

@haxalicious That's because the cities were designed with roads in mind, you nitwit! Where are you going to put the railroads? What part of the word "overhaul" do you not comprehend?

@user-op8fg3ny3j And, you want the same thing done to make way for railways? Just because someone on one side did the same thing before does not mean it is right to do it. That is the Tu Quoque fallacy. If anything, it's just one more argument against redoing everything for railroads, because what that shows is that such construction would not be good for anyone already living in the places being overhauled.

@user-op8fg3ny3j At what cost? How long did people go homeless because of it? How many neighborhoods were destroyed?
