  1. Biden has failed in Ukraine and Gaza due at least in part because of his generational thinking. It appears his hesitation in arming Ukraine effectively and in a timely manner is also due to the cold war threats of his youth and he still thinks of Russia as the Soviet Union. Now it is reported that his aides and advisers are going to go with a "bubble wrap" approach where he doesn’t have to do as much international travel. When Austin was in Kyiv he presented a document that said something like, we will support Ukraine to be in the best possible position for negotiation when the time comes. If anything this is a weaker statement than "for as long as it takes". It seems that we cannot count on US support for Ukraine and that all of its European and Pacific allies must prepare for this. We cannot let putin win so we must do everything we can now while US support is there but prepare for when it isn’t. In not saying it will support Ukraine to victory, the US is equivocating and if it tries to pressure Ukraine or pulls support then its demise as a world power is sealed and putin has won.
