As to the Indian munitions to Ukraine, what's putin going to do? He needs India to keep importing oil so as to fuel his war. It's putin who is dependent on China and India not the other way around.

It is ridiculous to suggest that we must throw our hands in the air shrug and resign ourselves to the uselessness of the UN. The UN has become an anachronism that does not fit this millennium.

@sebastianforbes1 currently it is putin who is in the weaker position to make demands because the war is very expensive. He can ask nicely that India not supply Ukraine but that is also business because Ukraine is buying weapons .

The UN is non functional by it's own rules. The Veto makes it self perpetuating and results in making a mockery of the objective for which it was created. Is there any reason why it cannot be disbanded entirely and a new organisation set up. It isn’t only Russia that's caused problems but also the US . Previous attempts to hold the US to account for alleged war crimes have been vetoed. Technically putin could travel to the US without fear of being arrested because the US is not a signatory to the Rome statute. This hypocrisy has been utilised by propagandists and has received some sympathy.

@richardmarsden5610 that's of no relevance. That is a bloc. I am talking about a broader organisation where members agree to certain principles and face consequences like suspension if they do not adhere to them. At present the UN is undemocratic because of the veto. A new organisation for this millennium would not have 5 nation states determining the fates of the many. The UN was set up in a very different era and does not reflect the current reality.
