  1. Ugh the images of desperate Afghans clinging to that plane in a feeble attempt to save themselves, is hard to see. What a disaster Afghanistan was and the pull out even worse. But Ukraine is not Afghanistan and Zelenskyy is not Ashraf Ghani. However the suffering of the Afghan men and women who now live under Taliban rule, who trusted in their future and risked their lives to help western troops, must not be forgotten or abandoned. This shame must not be repeated in Ukraine. We must follow through and see it to the end in an intelligent and ethically based manner.

  2. ​ @Joe-og6br who cares. History is littered with human errors and those we admire need not be saints and it is beyond absurd to believe otherwise. It is only an authoritarian who rules a serf class that requires the status of Saint. The serfs have to believe that the leader is appointed by a God otherwise they would question their station and rebel. Similar to Russia at the moment.
