I think a trump victory has to be factored in. Polling shows that Biden has consistently been trailing trump even before the debate. I have been following both mainstream and independent commentary and the general consensus is that Biden should step down. Many tone deaf rabid biden supporters are making all sorts of ridiculous excuses for the "leader of the free world". But polling of independent voters show a lack of enthusiasm for either candidate but still fall down on the side of trump. Very annoying because Biden said he woukd be a one term president and I thought as many did, that he shouldn't run again. Naturally there were no serious contenders to Biden amongst the party as everyone bowed to the advantage of incumbency. We are told thet his wife and sister are advising him. If he'd kept his promise and the Dems had any sense they would have put others in the spotlight early and gently nudged him aside. Either way it's doubtful they could be in any worse position than they now find themselves in. There's no coming back from this for Biden. We must prepare and especially when added to this the US Supreme Court has put into law some form of immunity for their president. It's littered with language that makes it ambiguous and has the effect of dragging out any impeachment case to make it unworkable.
