I should imagine the majority of the planes that weren't picked off by Russian fighters were shot down as they reduced speed and dropped down to 500 feet as they entered the pocket

Thanks for the reply,I'd like to see TIK do a video on Bletchley Park and how much the breaking of the enigma code helped in kursk and future operations.As for me mentioning Mansteins miracle I'm only a layman and I was going off the documentary with Richard Overy who stated there were thousands counted dead on the battle field,I agree not much ground was taken but from what I've seen it was still a feat of logistical genius and stabilised the eastern front for the time being.

Then they should have concentrated the whole attention on Nijmegan instead of the other agendas being pprecipitated for debate, because of their eagerness in what seems an unwarranted intrusion of the high command into unfounded prerogatives was compelling it to what turned out to be its premature demise,instead of just concentrating on the entries to the port and eradicating the effects of the V2 rocket

TIK I have a question for you,'When the Germans invaded the oil corcassus and their tanks ran out of fuel,were they just left there,or did they find a way of getting them home,it never seems to be covered in documentary's on television,I know I should get a book on the matter really but thought I'd ask you if you have a video on the matter on army group A and their supplies,equipment and especially tanks.Thanks..

@Paciat I totally agree and the will Street crash was a piss in the ocean compared to what was coming compared to the isolationism of the u.s. Old men dilly dallying,silly dallying. Nothing though,compared with what's to come! Look throughout history, and,you'll find men hesitating. Hitler saw this and jumped,much like most twisted leaders,then pounced.If only good men would would do the same,well,I use the term good loosely.

@Paciat Correct

I take it Keitel didn't read Mein Kampf then,if he was thinking his memoirs would save him,saying Russia were going to attack first would hardly do him any favours with the Russian judges at Nuremberg,what was he thinking.Don't blame me guv,"Blame The fuehrer- errrrr sorry,I meant Hitler and Himmler Goebbels and Goering..

It makes perfect sense you plonker,he had 3 thousand aircraft 2 and a half thousand tanks,he'd bankrupted the economy with sophisticated loans,he had to invade other countries to get back everything,and,he didn't know he was going to lose the war did he? He invaded other countries for their stocks and wanted space for German citizens he had no choice after almost bankrupting his economy

You make good points which come across that it wasn't always Hitlers fault,if he wanted to head south in1941 and be more desisive then that's what he should have done instead of being stuck between two tasks,invading Moscow earlier then having a base for the Luftwaffe to spread out and bomb the factorys in the Urals and disable the soviet war machine or head south more so and either make an attempt at a grab for the oil or at least stop it from being sent up the Volga,also wasn't there a lot of iron ore in the south? It seems like maybe he shouldn't have listened to his generals so much or maybe have some of them shot

I'm not saying it would have gone to plan though,Stalin still may have had time to bring his forces in that he eventually did in December from the east and that's where most of their new t34s were rather than the light t26 et cetera the Germans came up against but it certainly makes you think,Maybe he should have had Halder shot.….However you look at operation Barbarossa the country was too big plus an enemy that would fight to the last,nothing like france
