@astrovarius543 Mandatory to pay the licence is obviously not a joke, or if it is, its a bad one. Several countries have it. But I am pretty darn certain UK would go the same way if enough people cancelled their licence. Easy enough for the powers that be to make it 100% taxpayer funded.

@David-ix9fw You guys are cute if you think cancelling the licence will do anything to the funding of the BBC. I feel pretty darn confident it would just get 100% taxpayer funding, in which case their budget would be the same, or higher, and you would still pay for it. Several countries have gone this way, I see no reason UK would be different.
