Hers the gist of how it is: The only thing that matters for vehicle (or any physical object) propulsion is (horse)power. Power means rate of energy conversion, which is what is happening. And yes, I am a physicist that also have decades of experience in vehicle design. Not that its needed, the formulas are quite simple and can be easily understood by almost anyone, if they looked into it. I recommemd doing so to anyone, learning how things truly work is both fun and educational. And can help one make your own vehicle better, if one builds or tunes for themselves. CHeers mate.
