Comments by "Golden Croc" (@GoldenCroc) on "BMW M5 V10 E61 Touring is FASTER than its 330km/h SPEEDO!" video.
@babic12009 I kind of misread, I thought he was talking about this specific example when he said "this model", and that he had deduced so from something he saw in the video. My bad, I should have thought about it a bit more.

Just a note many dont know, its not the E9x or E6x speedo per se. Normal non-M models got more normal errors... BMW likely calibrated the M models like this because it would look cool in most customers eyes.

@MrMk82 Never mind "many times", please name a single video this happened in? I would like to see it. Because it seems unlikely, to put it mildly.

I dont think it had many issues of note, what makes you think it does?

@PauloFernandesfitness Not really, not even BMW themselves of the same generation. My non-M of the same age has a normal error reading. This was a conscious calibration for the M models exclusively, most likely. And who can blame them, it certainly would look cool to most customers that wouldnt bother checking the real speed, which is almost every one of them.

@dougie8010 Exactly, which is why they thought they could get away with it. And they did. Many older cars, especially italian supercars are even worse though, and by a lot. In modern times, various Golf Gtis etc are also quite a lot worse as well.

keralistyrus4241 Did your read the all of the posts above or are you indeed, as I wrongly assume the OP did, talking about this specific example? If so, how can you tell?

keralistyrus4241 Ok. You might want to read the other posts above, they are pretty relevant to the discussion. Also, dont know what you mean by "E61 term", thats the name for the bodystyle and got nothing to do with the engine, or do you mean something else?

keralistyrus4241 I recommend you read the posts above again, specifically my second one, it seems you are replying to something that was a misunderstanding in the first place, and thus isnt applicable in this discussion really. Cheers mate.
