No way around that fact, unless you have a nobel physics prize guaranteed and totally will change everything we humans know. Power is what accelerates a car, no ifs or buts about it. And power is measured in horsepower or kilowatts for cars. All other numbers by themselves are totally irrelevant for acceleration and yes, that includes torque.

  9. 100-200 in about 16 seconds? Seems like another car with fantasy numbers, or it was not running right. My 335d e92 did about the same time (16.2) with stock 290hp!

  11.  @jutjub22  I know, and indeed you are correct, thats why I wrote "in isolation". You only need the horsepower number to make a really good calculation, whereas the oft quoted max torque figure says just about nothing about acceleration.

  13.  @maiwandsamiri8832  its a function of their limited, most often, fixed gearing and because of that fact, they dont make their claimed horsepower at high speed.
