Its a tradeoff between the strengths of the different models I think. On balance, you may well be right.

@Dokepredator DCT M3 is usually about a bit over 10s 100-200. 11,5 is too slow. Its down on power if that is the case (with DCT)

E90 with manual has low drivetrain losses compared to many other cars I think, and has pretty good aero. Also, it seems to be real 400hp, not dream horsepower.

Well, its a bit tuned... But yeah, top speed isnt bad for the power.

@madslundgaard6625 No, it is correct, why shouldnt it be? Power difference is proportional to time difference.
3
Untuned you mean? No. Not at all.

e9x got pretty good aerodynamics for a turbo car, downside is a bit lacking in cooling

I got a 335d, 335i with N54 is better for tuning no doubt, more hp per $. But the diesel is better in other ways, and can still be pretty fast.

@Arman-tm1kz Yes, max torque figures are totally irrelevant. Its power and power only that matters. Torque myth is old as hell though, and still even many auto journalists quote it, who really should know better. So it probably wont go away any time soon.

Yeah cooling is a big problem I have heard when tracking, especially when tuned. Same with My 335 diesel, it gathers temperature very fast when using full throttle. Dont know if can stomach to watch the numbers it will get up to on my next nurburgring trip.
1
Not too sure about that, depends on the tuning.
1
@evilashflash Yeah its possible if the power drops really sharply, but that is pretty uncommon for most gas engines, I guess a tuned N54 might be an exception. Be aware though, that when most people say this, its just a myth that they have convinced themselves of, so you unfortunately got lumped into the same category, rightly or wrongly.
1
@evilashflash Yep, I do. But its uncommon for most cars and also have to do with the tune one runs, of course, some are stronger than others lower in the revrange and vice versa. But its good you found the fastest way, I also shift my car about 300-400 rpm lower than factory max because of the dynocurve after tuning, but its a diesel. Factory stock, its fastest to pull mine all the way to the revlimiter. Cheers.

@zlover7777 "Aman" wasnt quoting you, so maybe he wasnt referring to your comment?

@Saif0412 Absolutely it is, dont think anyone doubts that.
