Dont think they made their system for launching, at all. That makes an enormous difference, up to 2 seconds.

A max Nm number doesnt mean anything for acceleration. For any vehicle. Thats not how acceleration works. Most people dont know this, though.

@Alex-hv3ir At that rpm yes, which is seldom stated (it isnt here, for example), and which is never correlated with the rpm which gives the best acceleration. Thusly, those numbers are meaningless for anything except calculating the BMEP of an engine, which most people wont even know what it is, and most certainly dont care about.

@StefBelgium I meant what I wrote, a max power unit (engine) Torque number isnt correlated to max acceleration for any ICE vehicle ever made. Thus, it is useless information.

@matthewconnor6817 Yeah, but thats not a hybrid with quite a bit of EV range though, is it? Because thats the point. Apples and oranges.

@Alex-hv3ir 600hp aside, Power to weight is what determines acceleration, broadly, until you are getting into speeds with very high aerodynamic drag for your power level.

@jedenszesc You are right of course, but hope dies last. If I can free just one soul from these 1940s motor journalists myths that still lives on, it will have been worth it. 🙂
