  1. Its subjective. Europeans drive way faster and further on average in "high performance" cars, and the exhaust roar makes you tired. German cars are built for the german market as first priority. Most of those cars are "daily drivers", a garage filled with different cars is uncommon. So it all comes down what you use the car for, the car culture is totally different. If you can afford a 100k car, you can afford a 1k exhaust if you want , so for me its an easy choice. I actually got a diesel instead of a gas car by choice, as it was comparably quieter at high speed.
