Dont know what it weighs, but it seems like maybe... 400-420 hp? Somewhere around there?

@TH-qq2lb AWD powerloss at these relatively low levels is a bitch at high speed, that is all there is to it.

@TH-qq2lb VAG group seems to have some special sauce, maybe they decouple their 4WD system some extra way above what the haldex system can do, maybe their Dual clutch has lower power loss or maybe they just plain give more power than they state. Or some combination of all of the above. But many of their cars are faster 100-200 compared to rivals with similar stated power to weight. Note: edited for clarity.

@ThenameisOskar It doesnt seem like 440, but I dont know about as low as maybe 350, it is AWD after all. My M135i did 11.8 or so with 360-370 hp and that was a RWD autobox car. Is this any lighter?

@TH-qq2lb One could debate if the term "AWD" has any specific meaning beyond all 4 wheels drives being driven. It seems to be mostly an American epression, which is somewhat antiquated in todays vehicles. Yes, I dont doubt that your car indeed does the time you stated, I just said VAG cars times compared to their competitors are often better than their specs would suggest. Compare a Golf R 8 to an A45 AMG forh example. Which would make them an outlier, when talking about this Ford Focus.

@TH-qq2lb Oh, and probably your car is at least 100, maybe 150kg lighter than this focus, no matter the stated weight. Those numbers are often wrong.

Maybe the Golf is lighter and has lower drivetrain losses? But it certainly doesnt seem like all of 440hp, that I agree on.

@TH-qq2lb For sure, for normal roads more speed is not needed.

@papa_pt I very much agree with almost everything you said, except the fact that as long as the turbo is spooled up, the volume of the engine doesnt really matter for power area, no matter what displacement the engine has. And it certainly is spooled up between shift on this car. It is more likely the drivetrain losses and turbo and shifting lag costing time here. Still dont think its the advertised 440hp though, even at peak.

@xIcarus227 I am sorry for being unclear in my post, I can see you put quite a bit of time in this reply, and since I already knew the the things you wrote, I apologize to take up your time. What I meant in my post was that it might be possible to decouple it even further "upstream" than most cars do, so to say, in the DCT gearbox itself for example. Of course, even if that might be possibIe I dont really believe that is the answer, and that the other explanations are more likely. I have edited the post you replied to avoid further misunderstandings of what I meant. Yes, almost every car these days has some kind of "on demand" clutch system in their 4wd/AWD system it seems like. That is why the distinction seems a bit outdated according to me. Cheers and thanks again.

Its possible, but then your Mazda would have been way lighter and with lower drivetrain losses.
