@DieselCreek Attempt at serious answer: I dont know about the battery date code, but the motorcycle on the battery sticker appears to me to be a Silver colored Suzuki SV1000s, A bike made between 2003-2007. So either they have an old sticker design thats hung around, or they put a pretty "new and cool" (at the time) bike on the sticker... which in 2003, the First model year of SV1000S would be. My vote goes for 2003.

@AdamAlistair Your post was a pretty good comedy post talking about the battery age subject and getting a lot of attention 👍 So I figured I should post below so it would perhaps be noticed among the thousand of other comments as well as clarify I was indeed serious about what I wrote, and it wasnt intended as a joke post. Seemed a suitable place to post my theory (that I stand behind). I doubt all that many (as a percentage of viewers) other people noticed it was a Suzuki Sv1000s on the battery sticker for example, and that in itself could potentially provide some clues about the battery age, not just the date stamped on it. Cheers mate.

It isnt, look in the earlier video of it, it was a rusty mess.

"I could not afford not to buy it" ‐ Perfect logic man maths. 10/10. Wife will accept that for sure.

@MatthewBerginGarage So you at least agree there are reasons then, and you were a bit hyperbolic (for comedic effect I assume?). I take it you dont really believe its "always broken" (as can be seen at the end of the video) either? Anyway, I am not really a fan of using such hyperbole in general, since when people read it, it often has the effect of in peoples mind shifting the focus from the legislation etc, to the manufacturer that generally are mostly innocent in all this. Better to bark up the right tree, instead of the wrong one, even in some small capacity I think.

@catman19 Well, if by "torque", you mean "low rpm horsepower", which is the common true meaning of the term "torque" people use. I personally wish people would stop using the term "torque" in that way though, since its a misnomer and leads to frequent misunderstandings about how engines and propulsion work, sadly. Better to use "low rpm power", I think.

@cumminssmoker2456 Diesels can fail in just as many ways as a petrol engines, sadly. Doesnt have to be crank related, there are thousands of other possible points of failure.
