Comments by "Golden Croc" (@GoldenCroc) on "The U.S. E36 is the M3 to have, even without a real M engine | Jason Cammisa Revelations | Ep. 20" video.
No, it isnt "the one to have". Not even close. And most certainly not these days, when it is more of a collector car. Now, that doesnt mean the US spec was a bad car, far from it. But certainly not "the one to have" as the title says. And no, the car wasnt identical to the euro spec outside of the engine, "including the brakes" as you said. They were different (cheaper) items. Please do a bit of research first next time, isnt this supposed to be a channel for car enthusiasts? Now that being said, the US M3 has its place as a nice "E36 M330i competition" or whatever it would be called these days. And it certainly was sold for a great price in its time.

@russian4159 Yeah, 0-60 and low speed performance while cruising city streets seems like a huge deal in the US. Not many care about that in europe, just a different culture. 60-130mph and similar rules the roost, and at those speeds (and up) the extra ponies are king and makes a huge difference.

Its close enough. Chassis wise, aftermarket got tons of parts for e36 that are more aggressive than the US OR euro M3 items that can be fitted.
