@bud389 Sorry, I am not sure what exactly you are replying to here. There are so many other factors at play, the two "accomplishments" of moon trips vs knowing country names have almost nothing in common at all. Surely you also know this, I am sure you are at least a reasonably smart person. Which brings me back to my observation of your comment not being so much driven by comparisons, as it was by a bit of spite. I get it, its not nice to hear. But in this case, the stereotype is warranted. I really wish people would divorce themselves from any collective like this and not take thins so personally, especially since nobody is saying it includes every single person of that collective, which I am sure you also know, deep down.

@fred-n6u Not average in your ability to name countries in that case, but it seems you might perhaps well be average in your ability to ascertain averages and reading/context comprehension.

@GGMatt If it (as the post you quoted asserts) is to be taken as a joke by a person, it is indeed "dark humor", you even write the definition in your own post, more or less. Perhaps the expression "gallows humor" is more likely to tickle your fancy and get the context of your quoted post across. Again, I am speaking strictly withing the confines of the viewpoint of your quoted post. By the way, I am neither American, nor a Brit, so that assumption isnt correct, which somewhat showcases the fact that your logic for me being incorrect is built upon a faulty premise. I would suggest adressing the topic at hand instead, lest you keep barking up further incorrect trees in the future. That would be quite a pity, after all. Cheers mate.

@charlesbrown4483 Not true, its very impressive in many places, and that certainly includes the US. Your second sentence also doesnt have any relevance to the first or the comment you replied to, especially since most US citizens wont be able to to that either.

@charlesbrown4483 Nah, thats the truth. However, note that I didnt say I thought I was. As for your second paragraph, are you sure most Americans would get to 47 or 48?... I am not convinced of that at all. All in all, it appears to me your post is predicated not on general worldwide statstics, but rather a subset of it, most likely you social circle and people somewhat adjacent, chiefly US based. But thats a very small slice of all people in the world.
