As the other guy wrote, the "odd" look of other cars were a feature that buyers wanted. Yes, really. Most early adopters are into it to brag.

Almost full marks, but one has to say even if the price can be percieved as "expensive", its a relative thing and they are mostly cheaper than EV competitors for as long as they have existed.

@ Yes, thats one of the considerations to keep in mind that I alluded to. However, the quality is of course very variable depending on which brand and model.

 @bvoyelr Nah it surely cost. They are relentless in that area. As are most modern manufacturers. They have to be. But Telsa takes it further than most.

@ Around the same price, but still cheaper. Chinese competitors are, where they are availible to buy, sometimes cheaper, but there are of course other considerations when buying a car. Conclusion: They have indeed been mostly cheaper than EV competitors for as long they have existed, certainly in EU and US market (Where chinese branded alternatives effectively dont really even exist as of yet). So, as you can see, regarding the price and whats "expensive" relative to competitors, my point stands.
