  1. I am pretty sure The asteroid was a false flag, and we are supposed to think so as well, from the clues that are in the movie. The capability of controlling an asteroid from across the galaxy are totally beyond any ability we have seen the bugs have. Or the humans, for that matter. Secondly, what is the value of crashing a single asteroid into a city, a non military target. It just doesnt make sense. Probably there was no asteroid in the first place, it was more likely some kind of bomb.
