Regarding towing and stuff like that: To be honest there are tons of things you notice as a non-american of how some marketing departments/commercials have some things in the US especially in an iron grip... Not to say that isnt the case elsewhere because it surely is but you get the feeling people get more of their info about all kinds of stuff strictly from commercials in the US... I can name a few examples on top of the "you need a massive pickup, preferably a "dualie" to tow even a small trailer" which seem to be generally accepted. "you need a massive pickup, preferably with 35" monster mudder tires to go on an unpaved road" and "you need a massive pickup, preferably a "dualie" to transport a small hand pulled lawn mower..." Now that I think about it, seems like massive pick ups is the common denominator in a lot of car myths. Pretty funny.

@MrZcar350 Works fine everywhere. A 16 foot boat is very light, relatively.

Even in europe the tow weights are heavily outdated to the lower end. With todays more powerful cars with much better brakes than in the old days, you could more or less double the permissable tow weight. The only realistic danger is wobble because of faulty hitch pressure, but thats a problem you can encounter even within the current rules.

In Sweden, every trailer is roadworthy more or less, as long as you limit yourself to 30km/h. Normal max weight rules also dont apply in the same way. This comes in handy when using any boat trailer on a normal road for short distances.

@Woelkchen1515 Uhm... Why can the US dudes chill in 130 whilst its 80 in EU do you think? Its too high in the EU you say, thats why? Then tell me, how can US people tow much more weight and still do 130, or the same weight and also do 130? What kind of super vehicles do they have? And most importantly, are the vehicles that are sold in both markets and got the same or higher tow rating in US compared to the EU market totally different in some way for the US market, since they also are allowed to do the higher speed? Methinks not... Conclusion: The EU tow rating, AND speed if you want to put it that way, (both too low) is heavily outdated for modern vehicles and could be raised, as evidenced by for example the US market.

@Woelkchen1515 Any comments on the bolded part in my previous comment? Surely it puts the entire foundation of the US vs EU tow weight and speed comparison you put forward to a head? Same vehicles, same or higher tow weight in the US, as well as higher speed. Seems to prove exactly what I said and vice versa?
