  1. Yeah, high speed sweepers are the temperature "gainers", whilst as you can see the onrushing air in an open wheeler actually cools the tire surface a bit on the straights. Also cool to see the Sidepod, brakes and rear gathering heat. Poor old Paul di Resta, he was a pretty good driver in his own right, even if his f1 career wasnt all that long. The big leagues are just that, after all.

  2. Yeah, being formula 1 they even calculate for the effect brake temp has on tire pressures at all times during the race (because of indirectly increasing air temps). Quite some years ago I believe their was a bit of hubbub of some teams running rims with some special materials and shapes to better control tire pressure and temps the way they wanted from the brake heat.
