@loickjaaj8969 No it really is an XM. They look similar, so I understand the mistake, but look again and you will see its an XM. Front lights under the bumper, the kink in the rear doors and glass etc etc are some easy way to spot it, among other things of course.

Almost, I think you know but just typed the wrong thing by mistake. XM was a successor to the CX, which was a sucessor to the DS. SM didnt really get any successors.

@cheezycrusty If you mean the logo in the grill, the XM also has it centered in some models. Its an XM, per my earlier post.

@BertrandNelson-Paris Hmm I find that a bit strange to be honest... Now I dont doubt some kind of marketing material talked about it as "the new SM" or whatever, but I dont see the reality of that, beyond just marketing or a sales pitch. Only real connection would be number of cylinders availible in the top spec, but the CX had turbocharging... Almost everything about the XM follows straight on from the higher end variants of the CX in my view. The CX Turbo 2 prestige (LWB) was pretty upscale, and no slouch. The SM had after all been out of production for 15 years when the XM came out, thats an eon in car terms for a car thats supposed to fill the same market niche, if they were serious about it.

@loickjaaj8969 No worries, as I said its an easy mistake to make, they do look very similar from the front.

@DenUitvreter Yeah all but the German marques have really fought a losing battle for decades when it comes to selling anything that has a high price tag. Either you need a super exclusive brand or a very large volume, and only increasingly so over the years.
