Its just a cool look. Certainly when they introduced it back in the 1980s, it was pretty unique.

Yes he is, but a lot of people felt the same. One can debate what this says about their intelligence and hand coordination, but there it is...

There is close to no demand for it though. Thats a big reason they went away, so unfortunately "a lot" just isnt... a lot.

@bindingcurve Maybe I am a bit slow, but I dont get this? The light on the shifter is always on when the rest of the interior lights are on, and there certainly werent any traction control back in the days when they introduced it. So I must be misunderstanding the point/joke you are making?

@bindingcurve Oh, ok. Then I get it. I just thought since the original poster talked about the shift knob, that you also did.

@bindingcurve I have actually owned one with this exact model shift knob, and it did not get bad during the time I had it, at least. Quality of it seemed ok to me. Perhaps if you got a lot of rings on your fingers you can scratch it, but it wasnt an issue for me.
