Thank god, It was the definition of stupid gimmick of being different for the sake of being different from the start.

You can argue that depending on your viewpoint, but I dont think anyone will argue its been a total economic gain in any way in the short term for him or any of his companies.

@ButtMcDuck Removing the radar and just using optics for forward sensing was a terrible mistake from a risk perspective, thats for sure.

@Mr_Cool I think they are on par with their EV competitors in the same price range for "luxury". Doubtful you can call a M3 or Y being in the luxury price segment anyway these days but...

@Mr_Cool Yeah, I just dont consider 60k dollar a luxury price, and because of that a 5 series not a luxury car in Sweden. Its a middle class car. Also, very few customers really care about stuff like interior quality etc. in the real world. If they pay more than 20k, they want a brand name that suits them, rest isnt all that important.

@Mr_Cool What do you define as quality/luxury in this case and how is a 5 series superior? Depends on how many years ago for 60k, I would say since they are mostly bought by middle class customers its hard to define it as luxury, but on the other hand we must both agree that "luxury" has no fixed definition in this area so it really is in the eye of the beholder. I stand by my defintion as outlined above. As for the last part, I can somwehat agree with that but maybe not for the same reasons. I sold my newer cars and bought older ones because I like the more "honest" driving dynamics of the older ones more. Cheers.

@knarfweasel the expression "middle class" has got a lot of definitions but a common technical one has the middle class far beyond income wise what most people think. In short, if you need to work for a living, you are still in the middle class. Funnily enough, by the same definition the average "middle class" Northwestern european or American is richer than the average Swede in the same bracket, so I doubt the any move would be beneficial.
