  2. All kidding aside, it really is a pretty nice car in its own way and good attempt for what they set out to do. EV technology moved really fast back then and it still got much better thermal managment of the batteries than the later Leaf. For those that were/are baffled by is "high" price when introduced, try to find a graph of Lithium battery prices back in the day. Even the, by modern standards, tiny battery in this car was a huge chunk of the retail price of the car. Just a couple of years later the price had halved and today its much less than 1/10 of back then. It was a trailblaszer of sorts back in 2009 and a respectable effort. They are also pretty fun to drive in city traffic.

  3. Range is heavily dependent on the speed, with these especially. If you look at the roads Doug is driving in this review, he would hardly get 30 miles when new.

  5.  @bwofficial1776  Yes a model T is a great car and when the model was introduced, this was pretty good as well. Lets make the comparison to a Benz patent motorwagen instead then, perhaps thats better to get the point across. It was realistically the only game in town at first. In terms of usability it was the best EV ever sold, by quite some margin. Cant expect more than that.
