  1. Excuse my ignorance if this is the bleeding obvious or has been answered many times over. Shaped charge shells and HESH type shells in big gun capital ship warfare. Were they too late in the day to be thought worthy of use, not deemed as effective as the well established types of shells seen here and not looked at - or is there a story waiting to be told?
