  1. Very very interesting! I don't agree with some of the ways you've evaluated weapons but.... it's a brilliant Baedeker guide to AAA on World War II ships, and I'veenjoyed every bit of it. Thank you.

  2.  @ronin3381  basically flash hiders to mitigate the effect of muzzle flash on the gunner's eye. You'll see them on infantry weapons such as the Bren gun or the No 5 jLee-Enfield jungle carbine.
