  1. Great video; Churchill's rather famous quote emerged quite a time after the battle had been won, as he shone a kind light on himself after the battle had been won. But is possibly the most important campaign fought by the west in the period.

  2. Apart from unrealistic expectations from SONAR, that isn't really true. Many of the tactics of the Battle of the Atlantic were based on new technology, and the ones that weren't and had historic pedigree, such as convoying, were introduced very very quickly.
