NB I think it's fair to say that by 1917/1918 British Empire troops had evolved their own combined arms infantry assault teams by 1917 and were as cutting edge as the German approaches used in spring 1918. Sturmtruppen were not unique to Germany. Gary Sheffield or Gordon Corrigan are the best revisionist authors if you wish to read further. Peace to all.
