Republicans got double karma from Stacy. The racist run off system and taking the governorship from her through voter suppression both came back to haunt them

Thank god these races happened in Stacy Abrams’ state

@timbassett9132 The US is a democracy, you can be both a republic and a democracy. Read a book

He would have won without the run off, they just made him win a second time
58
To be honest the other republican just fear mongered in his. Dude was in office for 6 years, made thousands of stock trades and went to 0 town hall meetings
46
So glad trump’s havoc on the planet and the poor was limited to one term. Hopefully it won’t take us decades to undo it
31
Make sure to vote for Sisolak and Cortez Masto, don't let global warming deniers take control of your state
23
@zinaj9437 "crt" isnt actually a thing actually tought in schools. It's an optional post graduate program in a handful of universities. Unfortunately consirvatives are using it as an excuse to ban the teaching of any history that paints the US in a negative light. Stuff like slavery or jim crow
23
thats the trade off for growth and high employment levels. No free lunch. Also wages rise with inflation, so your purchasing power often stays the same or grows over time
14
@Jkp1321 companies making a pro LGBT tweet doesnt mean they're aligned with the left lol truth is Republicans love nothing more than giving tax cuts to the rich and privatising every aspect of life empowering the 1%. Just look at trumps tax cuts, almost all of the benefits went to his rich golf buddies
13
Soulja boy went down the right Fallopian tube first
13
This consirvative mindset is weird. Your answer is to let poor kids wallow in poverty to punish thier parents for having kids they couldnt afford to look after?
12
@budomk9299 double karma when you factor in the role Stacy played after they robbed her in 2018 through voter suppression
12
@mrECisME sustained economic growth is also a historical abnormality
12
women will send him a stern messsage in november
11
@Gully2k that penalty against Denmark was a legit penalty
8
Great coverage
8
They’ve stoped pretending to care about law and order and the police this soon?
7
Nope. There answer to everything is austerity and tax cuts for the rich
7
The consequences of global warming will be interesting
7
power companies can determine the rate at which they buy the energy back from you tho, couldn't they just chose a rate that allows them to make even?
4
Fun fact, your taxes dont actually pay for any government programs
4
Republican's will start taking global warming seriously when the harvests fail and the rivers dry up, not a moment before
4
They'll start in over again when he leaves office
4
Looking at the data, partners of teachers faced a 29% higher risk of becoming infected than partners of teachers who shifted to teaching online. Parents of children in school were 17% more likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19 than those whose children were in remote learning.
4
@oldskoolmusicnostalgia The haven't had decades of deflation, they've had bouts of deflation over certain periods of time, but even that has crippled their economy with a lost decade of stagnation. That's why they've been trying desperately to stimulate inflation for a long time
4
We should listen to mmt economists and use war time economy management to fight societal problems like poverty
4
@Jkp1321 I'm sure they vote democrat (the party rhats always trying to increase taxes on them) instead of Republican (the party thats always giving them generous tax cuts and that believes in the Reagan lie of "trickle down economics")
3
@wasdwasdedsf if you want prices to stay the same, you have to accept slow growth, low wages and high unemployment. No free lunches
3
Scientists need money
3
what's your source for that claim?
3
@BoopMeHard True, he used to always talk look up to dictators
3
unemployment hurts workers and thats what you get with deflation
3
It was clearly the creatures from that one episode of Love Death + Robots
3
when the harvests fail and there's nothing to feed cattle?
2
@andreasjake it was legit tho
2
Taxes don’t fund the government. Come on vox
2
Republicans are owned by big oil
2
Thank god these races happened in Stacy Abrams’ state
2
republican's know they lose when people vote in large numbers. Pretty simple
2
@dontmisunderstand6041 We're not talking about other countries tho are we? We're talking about the US. We ARE a democracy. Having representatives make the decisions is the entire basis of a representative democracy.
2
@jacobjankowski That isn't true. Social security isn't funded by the trust funds. In fact, theres no money in the trustfunds at all. They exist merely as accounting entities. The federal gas tax hasn't been enough to cover the highway "trust fund" for decades and yet we never have an issue maintaning them, they're paid for through general revenue. Have you ever wondered why all of these reports about how the trust funds are going bankrupt always leave out the SMI trust fund? Becuase the law says that the SMI trust fund is backed by the faith and credit of the government. All they'd need to do to end the worry about SS going bankrupt would be to give that same legal protectino to the OASI ns DI trust funds too
2
@Sonof-uk8sb what does that mean?
2
not coal, coal is a dead industry
1
did it?
1
keep telling yourself that
1
wages rise with inflation
1
@ltgdr6298 Houses are actually cheaper today for someone earning the median income than they were 40 years ago. Thsts despite all the laws limiting housing supply on the local level
1
the government has to spend more that it "earns" because otherwise the private sector will fall into deficit
1
@tanjoy0205 federal taxes are simply deleted by the IRS in order to control inflation
