If you did you’d know that Balancing the budget isn’t always the answer. A government deficit is a surplus in the private sector. Meaning deficits are necessary for a healthy economy. The last time we “balanced the budget” was 1999 under Bill Clinton, and guess what? Balancing the budget caused a recession

  5.  @OGDailylama  That’s simply not true, and frankly it exposes how little you know about government spending. Deficit spending does not lead to inflation when there is spare capacity in the economy to absorb that spending. We literally spent trillions of dollars in covid relief over the passed few months, none of that money was paid for in taxes and yet inflation is not up like you suggest. In fact, your theory completely falls apart when you look at Japan. Their debt is 250% the size of their economy and yet they haven’t gone bankrupt or faced massive inflation, in fact they’re actually dealing with deflation not inflation. They’ve been trying for years to actually increase inflation levels. You are simply misinformed if you think the government needs federal taxes to spend. And it’s even funnier that you think we pay for the money the government “borrows” in taxes
