  1. the national debt isn't even a debt in the traditional sense. It's just a record of all the money ever spent into the economy that hasn't been taxed back out. The active part of it currently exists as US treasuries as part of peoples savings. So the national debt can easily be called the national savings account

  8. you have know idea how government spending works. The debt isn't something that has to be paid back, it's just a record of money spent into the economy that hasn't been taxed out. The only part of it the government needs to pay is the interest on bonds
