  8. I'm hoping that after the disaster in Ukraine, Russia has learned not to mistake Western calm for weakness. Russia thought the West would fold instantly because it had been non-confrontational in the previous years. Instead Western countries came together to support Ukraine and cripple Russia.

  9. NATO threatening war over something comparatively minor wouldn't be credible. Individual member states might, but NATO is a defensive alliance. You couldn't get the member states on board for a war against Russia unless it's a serious threat. Wagner stirring shit in Africa doesn't count, it'd have to be a serious attack on a NATO member.

  10. What do you envision NATO doing about it, though? It's not like Wagner is air-dropping troops into random African countries and overthrowing the government. They're working with local military juntas who did coups of their own. They're being invited. Sending in Western forces to kick them out again would mean war with the new government. That doesn't seem worth it.
