When a scribe makes a mistake in writing a word, he can erase it - unless it is one of those holy-name words, in which case he must bury the whole parchment in a special ceremony and start that page all over again. The Word was passed down from generation to generation unchanged. Thousands years tradition in writing the Word makes your opinion irrelevant.
