To ME, these robotaxis only offer the potential of cheaper cab rides. Otherwise, they offer nothing that Ubers and cabs don’t offer, at the expense of having a driver to potentially assist disabled riders and the elderly. The chief advantage of FSD, if they can ever get it truly working, would be for use in personal vehicles — for oldsters to maintain their independence longer and drunks go safely make it home. At least that’s how I see it. If and when I get too old to drive, I would still much prefer to have my own transportation than to have to call a robocab every time I want to go somewhere.

It’s not just drunks. Pet owners and parents with unruly kids that believe their little darlings should be able to tear up whatever they dammed well please are as bad as drunks and the vandalistic thugs.
